Historical Arguments
This is a course on the New Testament, courtesy of Yale University. It is an unbiased study of the Bible. As one will notice in this course, the Bible is flawed. Moreover, one will conclude that if Jesus did exist, he was not divine. That is made evident by the fact that no historians at the time even wrote of him. One can name Josephus. However, scholars believe that the mention of Christ was an interpolation (added in ex post de facto). One can mention the Talmud. However, when considering the shorter human lifespans of those times, it is safe to assume that no eye witnesses were alive nearly a century after the supposed death of Christ. Given the inconsistencies and contradictions, is it possible that god preserved his word? This is my latest response to the argument of preservation:
If the Bible is the word of god, why isn’t it self-evident? Why does it lack in critical details? Why is it historically and scientifically inaccurate? A common argument is that god preserved his word. If so, why does the Bible leave furlongs of space for skepticism? Can man or the devil be blamed when considering that god preserves his word? Thus, it is safe to conclude, that god has not preserved his word. He is then fully responsible for every Atheist that has lived, lives, and will live. Therefore, he is purposely condemning some while saving others. Nonetheless, god does not show favoritism (Romans 2:11). He would then be contradicting himself. Ultimately, it is safe to conclude that the Christian god does not exist. If it takes this much deception to prove his word right, his word is definitely and absolutely wrong.
