The Atheism Checklist:

• Atheist Scriptures ❒

Unless one wants to compile the works of Thomas Paine, John Stuart Mill, Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, etc.  Or, one can say that we have many scriptures like the Hindus do.  Nonetheless, any attempt at doing either is futile.  None of their books are considered the word of a god.  None of their books are considered divine.  All religions make metaphysical claims; am I wrong?  No.  To the contrary, Atheists don’t make metaphysical claims — especially when concerning Atheist publications.  Therefore, there are no Atheist scriptures.

• Atheist Music ❒

Secular music?  No.  Even the religious listen to non-religious artists.  There are no Atheist hymns or Atheist choirs.

• Atheist Place of Worship or Fellowship ❒

Worship of what?  Fellowship with whom?  The annual AAI Conference?  Don’t be silly.  Atheists don’t gather multiple times a week to worship a nonexistent Atheist deity.  Which brings me to my next point.

• Atheist Deity ❒

• Atheist Architecture ❒

Hi there Mr. Christian, can you escort me to the nearest Atheist Church.  “There are no Atheist Churches sir.”  Atheist Mosque?  “No.”  Synagogue?  “No.”  Mandir?  “No.”  You get the point.

• Atheist Art ❒

“Let us appreciate our appreciation of no gods.  Let us sculpt our disbelief in Thor, Allah, Ahura Mazda, Marduk, and Yahweh.”  How do you suppose we do that?  Exactly my point.

• Atheist Pastor/Priest/Imam ❒

Pastor of what church?  Priest of what Mandir?  Imam of what Mosque?  There are them who would say that we have preachers.  I have an issue with such a claim.  If preaching is equivalent to the sharing of ideas, everyone is a preacher of some sort; a ridiculous claim indeed.  The sharing of Atheist ideas isn’t the same as preaching.  Atheists aren’t condemning people to hell; Atheists aren’t dividing the world into the saved and the damned; Atheists aren’t telling others to convert. 

I speak for myself; I simply relay information.  I only test the claims of religions that are considered the absolute truth; yet what I constantly find are contradictions, scientific inaccuracies, historical inaccuracies, and outright absurdities.  I don’t find an absolute truth.  To the contrary, I find blatant lies.  I find anti-science propaganda; I find ignorance disguised as knowledge.  I don’t preach Atheism.  I don’t seek to spread Atheism.  If you want to affiliate yourself with x religion or y religion then so be it.  However, the second I hear you slandering science, I will refute your lies.  The second I see you trying to push pseudoscience into the classroom, we shall have a word.  The second I hear you speaking against a woman’s right to abort, I shall object.  The second I hear you trying to preach an absolute truth, I will rise and tell you why it’s a lie; I will tell you why I refuse to believe in it; I will tell you why it’s wrong to preach it to others.  I am merely standing up for my rights and for the rights of others.
