A Portion from my Last Debate

Me:  Or, do you plan on attending a college that will coddle your biases?

Him:  Well, I do plan to get my degree in philosophy and theology. I feel like I’ve been called to the field of apologetics, and so I’m just waiting to see what the Lord does from there :] (read here)

I was oblivious to this response when I drafted the original post.  It doesn’t surprise me that I was right.  However, I am appalled; I detest the fact that there are ways of earning degrees in pseudo-intellectual garbage.  Theology should be the study of gods and not the study of one god — the Judeo-Christian god in particular; philosophy should be the study of ethics, logic, reality, existence and the contributions of the many philosophical thinkers in history.  Unfortunately, both terms can be conflated with apologetics.  Apologetics isn’t a field; it’s fraud to the highest degree.  In any case, I accused him of being dishonest and disinterested in truth; let the evidence speak for itself.
