Being that you agree with this nonsense of a quote, I would like to ask: what is the meaning of the universe? Take your time; I’m sure you can pray and have god tell you an answer that even I find satisfactory. Or, perhaps not. I’ve seen this quote many times and I’ve still to see anyone provide a description of this ambiguous meaning he referred to. Just to clear, he’s implying meaning; it isn’t explicit in the text. His argument is basically asking: where did the notion of a meaningless universe come from? It’s analogous with: how does one conceive of darkness if light does not exist? Basically put, he’s saying that we only conceive of a meaningless universe because the universe actually has meaning.
